The first international conference European City – Urbanisation and Architecture, Security and Finance was held between 2-9 September 2006 in Sofia and Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. The conference was organised by CIMCCEE and the National Association of Municipal Clerks in Bulgaria.

 
Many city mayors, municipal clerks and business representatives working in this field were among the participants. As guests of the conference we had the President of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks Mrs. Marcella O’Connor, Mrs. Stella Kivellou, President of the International Association for Sustainable Development of the Mediterranean Region, Mrs. Lynn Oates, Perspectives Project, UK.

 
The main topics we discussed were the Public Private Partnership, contemporary trends in big cities organisation, principles of sustainable development in the city organisation, local government authorities in the organisation of the territory, fiscal decentralisation, etc.
